Jay – Co-Founder
Jay is the hands-on dreamer and builder behind Wise and Wonderful Farms. With over 40 years of experience in computing and a talent for tackling challenges head-on, Jay’s skills and determination have been instrumental in turning a simple idea into a thriving farm. Whether he’s building enclosures, planning projects, or keeping the wheels turning, Jay’s dedication to the animals and the farm’s mission is evident in every detail.
A lifelong learner and problem-solver, Jay has a passion for creating solutions—whether it’s designing systems, fixing fences, or finding innovative ways to grow the farm. Tim – Board Member
Tim has been a lifelong advocate for animals, with a passion for rescue work that began in his California childhood. Growing up, he worked alongside his mom to rescue sea lions, harbor seals, otters, horses, feral cats, and just about any creature in need. These early experiences shaped Tim’s deep understanding of animal care and his unwavering commitment to helping animals in need.
In addition to his rescue work, Tim is also an experienced obedience instructor, using his knowledge and patience to help animals and their human companions build stronger bonds. As a board member of Wise and Wonderful Farms, Tim brings years of hands-on rescue experience, training expertise, and a big heart to the team. His dedication helps ensure that every animal here gets the second chance they deserve.
Rick – Board Member
Rick has been surrounded by animals since childhood, thanks to his mom’s knack for rescuing every critter in the neighborhood—from birds to dogs and cats. That early exposure to animal care instilled a deep love for animals that’s stayed with him throughout his life.
With 40 years of experience in the computer industry, Rick brings both technical know-how and a compassionate heart to Wise and Wonderful Farms. Whether he’s helping with projects or just enjoying the company of the farm’s residents, Rick’s dedication to animals and his lifelong friendship with Jay make him an invaluable part of the team.
Greg and Michelle – Board Members
Greg and Michelle bring a powerhouse of skills and heart to the Wise and Wonderful Farms team.
Greg, Jay’s business partner at Bearded Vinyl, has spent over 20 years running a successful landscaping business and previously worked as a builder. His hands-on expertise in construction, problem-solving, and outdoor projects makes him a go-to for all things farm-related. Whether he’s helping to build new enclosures or dreaming up creative ways to improve the farm, Greg’s passion for animals and his practical know-how are a perfect fit for the farm’s mission.
Michelle, a dedicated special education teacher, brings a compassionate and patient perspective to the team. Her experience working with individuals who have unique needs translates beautifully to caring for the farm’s diverse array of animals, each with its own personality and challenges. Michelle’s calm demeanor and nurturing approach help create a safe and welcoming environment for animals and visitors alike.

Based near Detroit, Chris is a true jack-of-all-trades when it comes to computers. With over 30 years of experience in IT, web development, and digital solutions, Chris ensures that our online platforms run smoothly and look their best. A longtime friend of Jay’s, Chris brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for creativity and connection. In addition to helping Wise and Wonderful Farms, Chris manages social media for several companies and organizations, keeping them at the forefront of the digital landscape.
Sam
Hailing from New Jersey, Sam complements the team with over three decades of marketing, advertising, and logistics expertise. With a career dedicated to strategic planning and efficient coordination, Sam excels at crafting compelling content while ensuring all the behind-the-scenes operations run seamlessly.
